House and surrounding

In a beautiful wide area, in the middle of a quiet French farmer’s valley, you will find holiday home ‘Le Moulin du Saon’. The house was completely renovated in early 2023 with attention to old details to preserve the cozy atmosphere. See video!

The house, suitable for 8 people, has a large (fenced) garden with an unobstructed view along and a river which flows around it. Outside is a large garden table with chairs and the BBQ can also be used. On the ground floor you will find a spacious living room, bathroom with walk-in shower and a fitted kitchen with dishwasher, combination microwave and fridge/freezer. There are five bedrooms on the first floor, two of which are master bedrooms with a double bed, two rooms with a single bed and one room with two single beds. There is also an extra toilet upstairs. Optionally, as the 9th person, a child aged 0-3 can come along for which a camp bed is available (please note this when booking).

A set of towels and bed linen per person is included in the rental price. There are also various facilities in the house, such as a flat screen TV, washing machine, ironing facilities, coffee maker, tea maker, toaster, baguette box, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, hairdryer, board games and a view little outdoor games. The house is equipped with an air-air heat pump with which the house can be both heated and cooled. Almost every room in the house has its own thermostat that can be set as desired in terms of temperature.

Upon arrival at the house, there are various 'start' basic facilities available, such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, coffee filters, coffee / tea, salt / pepper, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, etc.

Parking is available at the house and there is an 11 kW charging station for charging electric cars. You can charge your car with your own charging cable, at a rate of €0.45 per kWh.

The garden is fenced, the stairs are equipped with stair gates and there are childproof sockets. Furthermore, a camp bed, high chair, baby bath, changing mat and toilet reducer are available on request.

The Normandy region offers many opportunities to discover the beautiful surroundings. A beautiful area for walking, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. You can also do horseback riding, climbing trips and/or a paragliding adventure (Suisse Normande). Not far from Saon, only 10 km away, is a national park and within a fifteen minute drive you are already at the beach or in the pleasant city of Bayeux with its many attractions. In short, there is no shortage of varied nature and activities!

Tip: On your way to an activity or attraction, take the back roads for beautiful views and picturesque villages!

The Normandy region is not only cool for its surroundings, but also for its rich history. This region is therefore known to many for what happened during the Second World War.
