Le Moulin du Saon

In a beautiful wide area, in the middle of a quiet French farmer’s valley, you will find holiday home ‘Le Moulin du Saon’. The house was completely renovated in early 2023 with attention to old details to preserve the cozy atmosphere. See video!

The house, suitable for 8 people, has a large (fenced) garden with an unobstructed view along and a river which flows around it. The adjacent building is the old water mill and now serves as a barn. Outside is a large garden table with chairs and the BBQ can also be used. A charging station is available for charging electric cars.

Note: From July to August the house can only be booked per week or several weeks, with the check-in and check-out day being Saturday.

On the ground floor you will find a spacious living room, bathroom with walk-in shower and a fitted kitchen with dishwasher, combination microwave and fridge/freezer. There are five bedrooms on the first floor, two of which are master bedrooms with a double bed, two rooms with a single bed and one room with two single beds. There is also an extra toilet upstairs. Optionally, as the 9th person, a child aged 0-3 can come along for which a camp bed is available (please note this when booking).

About us

We are Dennis and Rèzlin and live in the Netherlands with our son Sven. In 2021 this beautiful house with its barns crossed our path. It once served as the water mill of the French village of Saon. We fell in love with the house and the area! Le Moulin (The mill) is located in the Normandy region of France and that fits in with our interest in the Second World War in terms of history.

We took the step in September 2022 and received the key, after which we started renovating in the spring of 2023. It was a challenge to renovate everything, but we did it!

We leave the barns on the site for what it is for now, but we hope to be able to renovate them to their full glory in the future. Just like it is our dream to eventually get 'the mill' working again!
